Description

A simple and delicious recipe for Melt-in-Your-Mouth Chicken that is tender and flavorful.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (optional)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Add the chicken breasts to the mixture, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or up to overnight for best results.
  4. In a shallow dish, mix together the flour, Parmesan cheese, and dried Italian herbs if using.
  5. Remove the chicken from the buttermilk marinade, allowing excess to drip off, then dredge each piece in the flour mixture, pressing lightly to adhere.
  6. In a large oven-safe skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted and bubbling, add the coated chicken breasts.
  7. Sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  8. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
  9. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, consider adding a tablespoon of hot sauce to the buttermilk marinade.
  • You can also substitute the chicken breasts with thighs for a juicier option.
