Description
A simple and delicious recipe for Melt-in-Your-Mouth Chicken that is tender and flavorful.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (optional)
- ½ cup unsalted butter
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F.
- In a large bowl, combine the buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Add the chicken breasts to the mixture, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or up to overnight for best results.
- In a shallow dish, mix together the flour, Parmesan cheese, and dried Italian herbs if using.
- Remove the chicken from the buttermilk marinade, allowing excess to drip off, then dredge each piece in the flour mixture, pressing lightly to adhere.
- In a large oven-safe skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted and bubbling, add the coated chicken breasts.
- Sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
- Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, consider adding a tablespoon of hot sauce to the buttermilk marinade.
- You can also substitute the chicken breasts with thighs for a juicier option.
